COMTE Claire
I spent around ten years in Public Relations before turning definitively to an artistic career. I graduated from the New England School of Photography in Boston, U.S.A., and from the Institut National de l’Audiovisuel in illustrative photography in Paris, France. Studying drawing under M. Jean-Claude Athané, sculptor, himself a student of Zadkine, and teaching in Paris, with whom I collaborated on a book on drawing, “Corps et Graphie”. My photos are at the BIOS Agency Nature and Environment in Paris. I divide my time between teaching and my work as a plastic artist, both inspiring each other. I teach photography and new technologie, with a window on painting to various audiences. I am also an art therapist.
Some of my most significant exhibitions:
Promenades Photographiques de Blois “Les Costiens”
Open house day of the Ateliers d’Artistes in Belleville, Paris. I have been a member for some years.
Installations aux Rinceaux with the collective “Six sur Cisse” (Acte I à VI)
Petit Format Truyes exhibition.
The Magie Galerie des Illusions Blois museum.
The artist walk of Molineuf – A visual and sound installation regarding landscape
La Ralentie “Art et Pensée” gallery in Paris
AAB gallery, the “Au delà du réel” exhibition, collective work in Paris
Carré Baudoin “Singularité Plurielle”, collective exhibition in Paris
“En Hommage aux Galeries” a black and white photographie exhibition to celebrate the photography month, at the Centre Saint Michel in Paris.
To share a virtual exhibition with European artists is a compelling experience, rich in discovery, that I hope will spark the interest of one another and will, perhaps, strengthen ties and exchanges between artists from the countries represented. Let’s also hope that this will give an impetus to everyone’s work.

TROPISMES

TROPISMES
pigment print, 30x90cm, made on Hahnemühle paper, Didigraphie certified. FOTODART studio.
Stamped and signed by the artist.
Unique piece, 40×100 framed.
An invitation to travel.
I build worlds, by dreaming…
I invented a technique that allows me to generate pictures with paints on a glass plate.
My interest is bringing to life the first draft that I affix to this still blank plate, in the manner of a painter at liberty on his canvas.
I bring together water, gouache, ink and various materials. They mingle, repel each other, transform, take shape or fade away while remaining silent. From these different passages, sometimes a pulse finds its way. This plate, still in the making, is then scanned to reveal dilutions and thicknesses. The computer then works slowly to extract and chisel out a new, richer, more fertile earth.
The artwork can be printed on numero supports: fine art paper, ilfochrome, dibond with inset frame…
Also presented on tables or light boxes or in musical fiction boxes.
