Bonavita Angela

My path as an artist was a very difficult one. As a member of a large family, I had to study briefly just to be able to work as soon as possible, despite my artistic aspirations.
Now independent and in my thirties, I fulfilled this deer dream of mine to enroll myself in night courses of an art school in Turin (Italyà, as I work during the day. It was in Rome that I finally fulfilled my desire to be a student in my own right, and in Rome I obtained the Erasmus grant to come to Paris. In 1996, I arrived in Belleville. And there, my artistic life blossomed. I found myself in a multicultural world that opened my mind and gave me the desire to create. Today, I want to explore a world that is more vast and surprising, the digital world. This is why I am eager to partake in the DIGI HELICON virtual exhibition.

"La Vague"

Large format canvas 194x130cm. Multiple techniques: natural pigments, tissue paper, marble powder and gesso. It’s an energetic painting, with material shaped with a knife. Carried away by gestural improvisation, I obtained an extremely heterogeneous surface, scattered by streaks and several layers of various materials. This technique allows me to express what I feel, while giving free rein to the fleeting, magical inspiration of the moment. Since my participation at the 2014 exhibition for the Mediterranean Cultures Festival for UNESCO’s International Day of Peace, my favorite topic is the WAVE.
